OUR DECLARATION

WE AT FOUNDRY BELIEVE:

The Wedding industry is Evolving.

Sentiments of marrying for love, regardless of who you are, what you have, and how much money you make, has propelled us into a new era.

Fairy tales have long influenced generations to romanticize what was once (and in many cultures, still remains to be) an act of duty; of monetary, religious, and political alignments.

The flowery fluff surrounds a practical, sometimes darker truth that requires us to revisit the definition of marriage. Let this brief essay be a takeaway for a new vision that honors old traditions while departing from antiquated ideals.

No matter your beliefs, partnership is centric to a successful union.

HOW DOES THE
INDUSTRY HONOR You?

Here at Foundry, we believe that there is much work to do. For example, in how cultural representation has been overlooked or assumed by planners, a person's vision dictated by their appearance rather than their personality. Or how narrowly "nude" or "bare" colored garments are defined in your local bridal boutique.

The exclusion and division based on gender, race, faith and body type continue to deter bookings. Relationships and family structures all universally feel the impact of this in American life. As marriages mark a union under God and government, they also become a tool. If wielded well, with the support of industry professionals and communities, this commitment can broaden families, minds, and promote wellness.

AS DIVORCE rates SHY SOME AWAY FROM marriage ALTOGETHER, WE IN THE INDUSTRY HAVE REFLECTED DEEPLY ON WHAT THE secret IS TO A SUCCESSFUL PARTNERSHIP.

Whether it is a legal or symbolic gesture, weddings in themselves are a celebration of Love; to honor and devote oneself to another person through thick and thin.

And as couples should always strive to grow alongside one another, communicate openly, and have equality in their life plans, the industry should strive for this too.
